Sea Turtle Inc., South Padre Island, Texas
Sea Turtle, Inc. was founded in 1977 by Ila Loetscher, better known as "The Turtle Lady of South Padre Island." STI was
formed to aid and assist in the protection of Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle - and to ultimately restore the ridley population to a
level that will ensure its survival.
Each day, a volunteer from Sea Turtle, Inc. meets visitors at the facility and talks about the different species of sea turtles,
their importance to the environment, and what we as individuals can do to pull them back from the edge of extinction.
