Mom & Dad’s Wedding

Roberto and Antonia married on April 26, 1959 at St. Theresa’s Church in Edcouch, Texas. The day was so hot, and the bride was so girdled that she almost fainted. The reception was held in Monte Alto, Texas at Grandma Concha’s home, the mother of the bride. Cabrito, Chicken, and Carne Guisada were served with rice and beans. A conjunto from Weslaco, Texas was hired by the brothers of the bride to play for four hours. When the time was up, Tio Ezequiel paid for one more.
